Model Portfolio - your 'book'

printer friendly page

Your portfolio should be what you want it to be

A few family snaps can be shown around some local agencies to see if you can get a positive reaction

If you have better pictures it pays to present them properly

A nice binder and all the pictures the same way up

A few good shots not everything taken at your last party NO fuzzy shots, no pictures with other people - leave out anything which is not excellent

Loose leaf allows you to move them around when you get comments about a particulat shot

Put a good picture in first and last If you want to construct a good book you need images with variety and not looking as though they were all taken by one person in the same session

Ideally as a minimum, you need face front, both sides, full length, and something animated

Your book should show fashion, sporty, casual

If you have long hair which can be up or down - show it both ways

If you had anything published or professionally used add a page with the 'tearsheet'
(copy of the actual published page)

Be prepared to leave the agent or studio photographer your contact details,
best done using a comp card if you want to afford them
