Modelling Agencies
|
There are some very reputable, responsible and well run modelling agencies They are not necessarily the big ones An agency has to be listed by the DTI but there are few rules governing their performance or regulating their services Big cities are the normal place for model agents offices Most agencies are very busy places and a model has to make it easy for the agency to want to list them It makes sense to evaluate what kind of work you want to do and approach agencies who book it Agencies who want you to spend money with them should be treated with caution Agencies expect you to have a portfolio of work to show and be able to leave some kind of visiting or 'comp' card Most agents work on commission, and some insist that they are exclusive Most office based agents have some kind of web presence There are also Internet based modelling agencies, these should be used with caution There are also model related sites which are not agents and can be useful for example AlbaVery important - there are a lot of unscrupulous people who exploit wannabe models |
