Being a Model

You are a model when someone will pay you to show fashion (eg on the catwalk) or have your picture taken for advertising, editorial, a catalogue or for the personal benefit of a photographer

In this last case the photographer may want to promote his/her skills, have a need to do some personal work where a model is needed or just be experimenting, with new lighting for example

Many amateur photographers pay quite well for good models

At the we actually use (pay) two distinctly different kinds of photographic model and also photograph 'wannabes'

Professional experienced in photographic modelling, usually have plenty of photographers who will recommend them
Part-timer usually good looking people who may have been used a few times, may have done some TFP and may or may not aspire to being a professional
Wannabes these are usually girls who would like to model but have no experience

Very important - there are a lot of unscrupulous people who exploit wannabe models
