The is installing a compliant fire detection and warning system The system will be tested annually on Dec 1st each year or the first Monday in that month The entire facility is a No Smoking area Escape from the building in the case of fire is via one of 3 groundfloor doors each provided with compliant illuminated signs and glass protected alarm triggers The illuminated signs are always on when the building is occupied by visitors First floor escape is via the main staircase which is also signed and lit An outside assembly point is designated and signed by the front door Normally the main entrance is the fire escape except when the building is occupied by more than 5 persons when each of the 3 escape doors is unlocked and the two fire door blackout shutters are bolted open
